The exhibition “Tutankhamun: The Pharaoh’s Treasure” in Paris
In 1922, Howard Carter discovered the tomb of Tutankhamun and its many objects. To mark this near-centenary and build on the huge success of the 1967 “exhibition of the century” in Paris (one million visitors at the time), 150 pieces are being brought together, including 60 that have never left Egypt!
The exhibition will appeal to history buffs and the general public alike (children included) thanks to its engaging, immersive approach. Beyond the objects on display, the staging also deserves praise.
Travel back in time during your visit and learn more about the history of this much-discussed pharaoh. Brush up on your knowledge of Egyptian mythology and who knows… perhaps a trip to Paris will make you want to visit Egypt?
Given the enthusiasm, tickets are in high demand. La Villette has even extended its opening hours to meet demand. The Relais Saint-Honoré team can only advise you to book now, as the next available slots are rarely less than a week away.
