The Tuileries Funfair

Just a three-minute walk from Le Relais Saint-Honoré, the Tuileries Garden hosts its traditional funfair until 25 August. Entry is free; you only pay for the rides.

Open since 21 June, with no sound system so as not to disturb the neighbourhood, the Tuileries funfair has become an institution over some twenty years. Set up along rue de Rivoli, it has around sixty attractions, including the unmissable Big Wheel, originally on Place de la Concorde, and some twenty rides.

If you love thrills, try the “6G”, which spins at over 140 km/h, or the swing ride. For those who enjoy a scare, the ghost train will take you on a journey into the strange. Alongside the rides for the daring, there are more classic attractions such as bumper cars and the shooting gallery. Children won’t be left out: vintage 1900 merry-go-rounds, the caterpillar ride and lucky dips will give them unforgettable memories.

If you feel peckish, you can try one of the treats on offer along the paths: savoury or sweet crêpes, barbecue, toffee apples, candyfloss, churros, waffles, or refreshing ice creams and drinks on hot days…

After dark, the illuminations will delight you in the heart of summer.
