Museo de Artes Decorativas
The museum is on Rue de Rivoli, 300 meters from the Relais Saint-Honoré. It opened in May 1905 in the Marsan Wing of the Louvre Palace. The museum’s collections include around 150,000 items, 6,000 of which are on display to the public. The museum occupies an area of 9,000 m², with two thirds of the space allocated to permanent collections and a third to temporary exhibitions.

TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS
The current temporary exhibition at the Museum of Decorative Arts is “Tenue correcte exigée, quand le vêtement fait scandale” (“Appropriate dress required: when clothing causes a stir”) until April 23 2017.
This exhibition invites visitors to look back on the public perception and opinion of the major turning points in the history of fashion from the fourteenth century to the present.

THE LIBRARY
The library features a beautiful reading room which is free to enter, with 160,000 printed volumes covering the fields of the decorative arts, design, graphic arts, architecture, the history of art, the art of gardening, costumes and fashion.
