Exhibition on Napoleon at the Army Museum
A wealth of contemporary artworks to admire
Napoleon has been one of the most frequently depicted French figures in the arts since his death in 1821. However, it is the works of art created from 1945 onwards that have been on display at the Musée de l’Armée since 19 May 2021. The exhibition (entitled “Napoleon? Again!”) aims to present to the public the perspectives of today’s artists on the figure of Napoleon.
As such, alongside works by established artists such as Stéphane Calais, Hans Op de Beeck, Pascal Convert and many others, you will discover works by five artists aged under 35. Hailing from different countries, they were invited to create works specifically for the exhibition.
Furthermore, if you have never yet had the chance to visit the Musée de l’Armée, you should know that it ranks among the ten most visited museums in France, thanks to the 500,000 artefacts relating to French military history that it houses. Yet another reason to pay a visit.
