The magic of Christmas takes hold in the Tuileries Garden in Paris
Strolling amongst the 120 authentic chalets at the Tuileries Garden Christmas market is sure to help you find that gift idea you’ve been missing. As you stroll peacefully around, you might come across a glassblower, a cabinetmaker or one of the 18 craftspeople present for the occasion, offering you and your children the chance to watch some superb demonstrations. You’ll also find culinary specialities from France’s regions, curated by Alain Ducasse, so you can introduce your loved ones to – or help them rediscover – our culinary heritage. A wine bar will be open for the occasion, and a pop-up restaurant, decorated to look like the interior of a chalet, will be open for business.
If, during all this, you don’t happen to bump into Father Christmas, take to the heights on the Ferris wheel and enjoy a magical view of the many events and illuminations in the City of Light.
To warm up, you can show off your skating skills or, if you’d prefer, take it slowly as you learn the ropes on the 1,400 m² ice rink – a great way to get some exercise before a well-deserved rest whilst watching a free Guignol puppet show (at weekends only). For older visitors, there are also attractions on offer throughout this ‘Christmas Enchantment’, such as the ‘Christmas Ghost Train’ or the ‘Santa Swing’.
To top it all off – in this royal garden – 14 designers from the Paris Chamber of Commerce will be in attendance.
Traditionally, Paris’s largest Christmas market is held on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées. This first edition in the Tuileries Garden is just waiting for you.
Practical information: The Tuileries Gardens are a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Events take place every day from 10.00 to 19.00 and entry is free. Until 6 January.
